> [ Welcome to the world of Pokémon! People Call me Prof. Oak. This world is inhabited by creatures called Pokémon! ]
> [ You are about to embark on a long journey with Pokémon. They will be your company along the way. ]

What is the PWO Pokémon League?

The PWO Pokémon League is a simulation of a Pokémon adventure. Each PWOian may pick some Pokémon to accompany them on their adventure.

From start to finish, you will go on your journey- gathering items, catching and evolving their own Pokémon. Pokémon may be obtained by many ways- capturing wild Pokémon, hatching an Egg, by an event, or by trading. You can explore; everyone will explore the world at the same rate to prevent confusion. When a new town is reached, information about the town will be posted including any events around the town. The Battle Expert will post information about the gym if there is one. Along the way, you will meet characters from within the plotline, and maybe even befriend them.

If you're ever lost along the way, many of the other trainers in the League will be willing to help! You can also mail Prof. Samuel Oak, mei, or Pikanyaa.

Pikachu appeared! This G-Max Pikachu has 850 HP.

This post marks the beginning of the first turn in the Max Raid Battle against G-Max Pikachu. Team up with other Trainers to try and take it down for a shot at catching it and earning prizes!

For this turn, you may pick any one (1) of your own Pokémon to send out into battle, and you may also select up to one (1) Poké Ball of your choice (Poké, Great, Ultra, or Master.) Pokémon with high levels and type advantages can do the most damage! This Electric-Type Pokémon is weak against Ground-Type Pokémon! Be careful though, as Electric- and Flying-Type moves are not very effective against it! Comment below by stating which Pokémon and item you would like to use. You may also make note of it if you're using a Pokémon which you can Mega Evolve.

A post containing the results of the first turn and also beginning the second turn should be posted in one week. Check back next week in order to keep on fighting! This Max Raid Battle will be ongoing until Tuesday, June 30th, at 11:59 pm EST.

Please make not that although you MAY also participate in the concurrent battles ongoing against G-Max Eevee and Meowth, Pokémon sent out against Pikachu this month MAY NOT be used in either of those two battles! Select your Pokémon wisely!

The Max Raid Battle against Gigantamax Butterfree has concluded! Butterfree had 142 HP still remaining, but it was dealt 236 points of damage, knocking it out! With Goliath's Houndoom, Tansy's Pheromosa, and Viola's Charizard all attacking the Gigantamax Butterfree together, the energy that's been keeping it Gigantamaxed has become unstable!

The Gigantamax Butterfree explodes like a piñata into nine regularly-sized Butterfree, all which rain down from the heavens, each carrying a Butterfrine G-Max Stone. Two Great Balls and Seven Ultra Balls thrown by five different trainers fly up into the air, encapsulating the Butterfree before falling to the ground and starting to shake. What will the turnout be?

The third turn of the Max Raid Battle against Gigantamax Butterfree has concluded! Butterfree was dealt 244 points of damage, leaving it with 142 HP still remaining! Butterfree retaliated, blowing Lataria's Mega Altaria, Arf's Snorlax, and Goliath's Magikarp away! (These Pokémon may not be used again for the duration of the Max Raid Battle.)

The final turn starts now! Any Trainer here (who was present for any previous turn{s} or not) can join in this round with a new Pokémon, along with an optional Mega Stone, and a Poké Ball of choice which can be used at the battle's end!

NOTE: I would personally like to apologize for my unannounced month-long haitus, and extend this Max Raid Battle to conclude in one week, now ending on Sunday, May 31st, at 11:59 pm EST. To make up for a lack of new content this month, I will be hosting THREE concurrent Max Raid Battles next month! Please do look forward to them, but for now, let's get this bread and Butterfree!

This is the third design I'd like to pitch for the missing Pokémon event. Corsola is one of my favorite Pokémon ever, and its Galarian form is the saddest thing in the world to me. When I worked as a teacher, I taught children many times about coral reefs, and how they were bleaching and dying... so a Galarian ghost-type Corsola based on bleached coral is not only brilliant but also really hits home. I wanted to try and play with the idea of Johtonian Corsola evolving into a happier, more colorful Cursola, so that we could also have a cute and cheerful counterpart for the evolution just like the first one.

Coral comes in many colors, and healthy coral will be brilliant like a rainbow, unlike dull and bone-white bleached coral, and while I wanted to use a lot of colors for its evolution, Johtonian Corsola itself has such a nice pink color to begin with that I didn't want to stray too far from that. The precious coral it's based off of is often used for jewelry in real life, and I thought that it might look more lively and colorful if it was decorated with jewelry like a jewelry holder. This let me make it unique while still paying tribute to its roots, and let me introduce more color into its design while also keeping its colors in-tact. Since Galarian Cursola is translucent and flowy, this decoration also helps to give Johtonian Cursola some character and flair on a design that might otherwise merely be stiff and coarse.

The jewelry itself could maybe be designed better or have a better color scheme, but for this draft I didn't want to complicate the design too much or make it feel too complex to be an ordinary Pokémon. I thought that jewelry might be a bit crazy at first... but when we've got stuff like Alakazam with spoons or the entirety of Klefki existing, I worry less about it. This Pokémon is a Water/Rock-type, just like its base form.
Arf @ Tuesday, April 21st 2020, 5:57 AM
I like the design for this, and it feels like a believable contender for a Johtonian Cursola.
The only thing that gets me is the name "Cursola" feels like it implies negative connotations. So it's hard for me to feel like a happier version is suitable. This is just my opinion though, and I really do like the idea behind your design^^
MPD @ Tuesday, April 21st 2020, 7:50 AM
Jewelry can often be cursed!

Really I think that one thing regional forms don't need to entirely match is names. I did think about this, but with Pokémon named after types like Cursola and Mr. Rime,, it's just kinda how it is. Like my best counterpoint to this is just how Alolan Sandslash has nothing to do with ground or sand anymore, but it's still called "Sandslash" even when it's Ice- and Steel- type.

Thank you for your feedback!

A counterpart to the design for Galarian Cofagrigus I just submitted, my idea for Unovan Runerigus shows what might happen to a Unovan Yamask when it evolves into a Runerigus instead of a Cofagrigus. In this form, Yamask's evolution breaks apart from its grudge, and it's even less able to rest in peace than ever. I thought it might be interesting to play with the idea of it shattered apart as a Runerigus should be, and because of its dark feelings being fully unleashed here, this Pokémon would be a Ghost/Dark-Type.
Arf @ Tuesday, April 21st 2020, 5:46 AM
This and your Runerigus design feel like they fit perfectly. It's exactly how I would have imagined them based off of their counterparts in the other regions. Awesome job!
Pikanyaa @ Friday, May 8th 2020, 1:19 PM
If Runerigus here is splitting sections off a coffin... does that mean we can see inside? o-o; What does that entail...
MPD @ Friday, May 22nd 2020, 9:04 PM
Well since this is a Runerigus, I imagine that it would be solid instead of hollow, so the insides would look as I've drawn them here... but if I *WERE* to hide something inside of it peeking out, I'd probably put a Humanoid from B2/W2 into it, myself.

This is my first entry for the missing Pokémon event! I've been playing with ideas for Cofagrigus and Runerigus, and thought maybe they'd help also inspire other people to join in on this, so I made these drafts up right away!

Cofagrigus is a very slick, clean Pokémon compared to Runerigus. Whereas Runerigus looks chipped and fractured, Cofagrigus looks well-preserved and whole. Since Unovan Cofagrigus takes Yamask's mask and sees it extended into a full coffin, I thought that maybe Galarian Yamask's rune might extend into a full runestone for Galarian Cofagrigus's appearance. Here we see the rune all together, with Cofagrigus's four hands seeping out of it, not needing to hold it together. I might imagine this particular form's typing to be Ghost/Rock, since it's still dead and haunted, but now the rock is fully in-tact.
Pikanyaa @ Friday, May 8th 2020, 1:14 PM
This idea definitely makes the most sense, but since you mention Cofagricus being a very clean and slick Pokemon, do you think maybe a Galarian Cofagrigus would be too? Maybe like smoothing out those jagged edges a bit to separate it more from its native counterpart... But I do like seeing the whole rune fused together!
MPD @ Friday, May 22nd 2020, 9:05 PM
Well I did polish it up so you don't see any chips or cracks here... but it might be a good idea if we took this and drew it in the shape of a coffin, maybe even with it looking like the front of it was like part of a lid?

We know what happens when a Galarian Linoone evolves into Obstagoon, or when a Galarian Meowth evolves into Perrserker. But what would happen if a Hoennian Linoone evolved into a Hoennian Obstagoon, or if a Galarian Meowth evolved into a Galarian Persian? There are nine evolutions we know of so far which are region-exclusive... but what if they weren't?

And with that, I am now officially retiring Sam. It's been a long five years. I've wanted to give up on Sam and Ally multiple times due to several reasons, but I'm really glad I didn't because we've finally reached the end. Sam has been around since my original trio and I think he's more than earned his right to take a knee at this point.

Side note: I will be returning to tie up some loose ends that Pik has brought up to me, so if you still have a few questions, chances are, I will cover it. If I don't and you'd like to see me tie up a loose end I seem to have missed or have purposely left untied, let me know!

Picture(adulted for memories of death and blood) and this entire story was inspired by this song!

I was too lazy to actually update this picture to the current storyline and art style(and apparently my much better spelling), so here's the original redraw(original(adulted for the same reason as this one) can be found here!) for this part! I'll probably redraw it again later.

I Don't Dance is mentioned and is important for this part! You can find it here if you need a refresher or if you missed it!

Honestly Gregorina could probably rock any food style and it would suit her because she's just that versatile. Tomatoes? Saucy. Cheese? Pretty gouda. I recommend bananas next just because I love bananas and think that style would look appeeling on her.
